Media Description: High content (10%) Feroxyhyte (FeOOH) coated GAC
Catalytic-Carbon™ Removal methods:
1. Mechanical Filtration (fine particles, TSS, Turbidity down to 1 micron)
2. Adsorption of organic contaminants
3. Adsorption of inorganic contaminants (e.g., Heavy Metals, Radionuclides)
Polishing Systems
Watch Water® has developed a unique catalytic carbon and related systems for polishing a waste water stream to remove all toxic contaminants. The first system (System I) includes a pressure vessel containing Katalox-Light filtration media to remove selected contaminants from the waste water stream. In another pressure vessel, the vessel contains a bed of catalytic carbon. Both the systems are based on single-bed downflow technology.
Fluoride Removal
Catalytic Carbon, Media is a proprietary fluoride adsorbent based on activated alumina, Iron and silica that is designed for potable water as well as complete water treatment industry. A highly adsorptive activated alumina media and chemical treatment system, combined to provide a simple, safe and compact process with automatic controls. It is effective treatment for fluoride across a broad range of pH from 3 to 9 with the highest removal capacity is achieved with the pH range of 5 to 7
ARSENIC – Removal
The removal of contaminants through physical or chemical bonding on a surface is known as adsorption. There are several types of adsorbents based on – Activated Alumina, Ferric Haroxide, Titannium dioxide, Activated Carbon and other inorganic materials. The disadvantages of these adsorbent is that they can not be regenerated. This produces huge solid waste. Watch-Water produces less solid waste than all other adsorbents- as they can be regenerated. Concentrated liquid obtained from the regeneration process contains precious metals fo reuse.
Boron – Removal
Watch-Water® Germany has made an easy method to remove Boron from water which was technically very difficult with Ion-Exchange resins or Membrane Technology. Coagulation sedimentation method needs large amount of calcium hydroxide, aluminium compound which generates huge amount of sludge. Therefore cost of chemicals goes high and at the same time it becomes very difficult to perform sludge treatment. In the Ion-Exchange process, in order to treat water or wastewater containing high concentration of Boron, a very large amount of Boron-adsorbing Ion-exchange resin is required. To solve these problems in an optimal way, Watch-Water® has introduced Boron-Treatment-Method of efficient Boron removal from water and wastewater.
